It's not just the grammarians that cringe at that Bob Dylan song.
Actually, largely due to your years of harassment, I don't make that mistake much anymore.
Embarrassingly, I may just have to do as she suggests and print out that cheat sheet to have with me at all times. Got the I vs me, though.
Someday I'll publish a list of my own weak spots, like proved vs. proven. Damn public schools.
In 8th grade English we had a girl in class named Lane. And a boy named Alan. So when Mrs Cohen used the example "Alan had lain on the couch for hours" we all cracked up. But I never forgot it!
It wasn't Arlene Cohen, was it?
