Meet My Dog, Punchline

Last night we met a greyhound called Bus.

That's the school of nomenclature that produces whippets called Devo.

I had a siamese cat named "Mao"...not some quaint reference to the Chairman, but because that was the sound she made..."Mao"...(getting louder) MAo.... (Louder)...MAO!

The inspiration was a friend who had a dog named "Woof" and her mother was forced to stand in the middle of the street in Trinidad, calling the dog to dinner, screaming "WOOF, WOOF, WOOF". Everyone thought she was crazy. The kids were the crazy ones.

When I got my second Cat, I obviously had no clue what to call her. Since she was Cat #2, I called her Kat-too.

There. Now you know some of the dark secrets of my pet's names.

Bus is a stupid name for a dog greyhound or other breed, I personally prefer animals with names that end in a vowel so they are diminutives like Lilly, Jimmy, Kenzo and Calvin which could be shortened to Calvie, On the other hand I don't like it when parents name their human children with nicknames, do you want to be 50 years old and named Daisy? Or Maisie?
