That Ain't English

You know what I hate just as much as "nucular"? When Bush says "September the 11th," which seems to happen every few minutes.

"September 11th," yes. "The 11th of September," also fine. But "September the 11th" -- what is that? Not English.

You'd think a staff full of speechwriters and other advisers would say something. But then, they probably gave up long ago.

Please, a little compassion! His first - and last - shining moment of his presidency (it's safe to project this to the end) was on this day at the wreckage of the Twin Towers. Rarely a week goes by that he doesn't need to remind us of the day. It is his raison d'etre; his theme song, his excuse for .... everything. It is his perfect non-sequiter resonse to all hard questions - and aren't they all hard for him!

So, remember, even idiots have feelings.
